Millions of women and girls are still denied their human rights because they are female. We want to see that change. That’s why we support Womankind Worldwide, a global women’s rights organisation. They play a key role in the powerful, worldwide movement to transform women’s lives.


“A world where all women, girls, and people of all genders enjoy equal rights and freedoms and live with joy, choice and dignity.”


Womankind Worldwide work primarily with women’s rights in Africa and Asia. However, there’s no country in the world where women enjoy the same rights or opportunities as men today. So, it’s important that we all do our part to solve this global problem. We are proud partners of Womankind, donating to this wonderful organisation with every pack of For Women sold.

So, what do women’s rights and women’s live cultures have in common?

Vaginal health is a feminist issue. 

Stigma and misinformation pressure women to alter the look or smell of their genitals, often disrupting the vagina’s natural pH balance. Many still use harsh soaps or ‘douche,’ unaware of the harm to their vaginal flora. Shockingly, 42% of women have never been taught how to care for their intimate health. Good bacteria imbalance increases the risk of infections like thrush, UTIs, and bacterial vaginosis - issues men don’t face.

Breaking the silence around vaginal health is essential. Education and open conversations empower women to care for their bodies without shame.

Women’s stories

Nunu, a mother of five from Ethiopia’s Oroma region, faced unimaginable hardships after a tragic accident in 2020. A negligent driver struck Nunu and another pedestrian - leaving her with severe leg injuries while the other victim lost their life. Shortly after, Nunu's husband passed away, leaving her as the sole provider for her young children.


Unable to work due to her injuries, she struggled to meet daily expenses. "I feel very drained mentally and physically because I continue to be in a lot of pain and I still can’t work for now," she shared.


Hope arrived when a journalist connected her with the Ethiopian Women Lawyers Association (EWLA). "Before this, I had no knowledge of EWLA… but they became a shoulder to cry on." Their legal support helped Nunu win her case and fight for justice.


For Nunu, EWLA was more than legal aid - it was a lifeline.
